Choose an IT starting point

Pick the part of your technology organisation you want to model first. You can only model one at a time here, which is the point: a small model you can check beats a large one nobody believes.

How a workspace fits together

Each step adds one level of this chain. Nothing is filled in for you, and nothing below a level you have not chosen is available yet.

  1. WorkspaceEverything you build here: one service line and what hangs off it.
  2. Service lineThe part of your technology organisation you are modelling. — Not available yet — an earlier step is unfinished
  3. OfferingA defined outcome you deliver to a customer or an internal stakeholder. — Not available yet — an earlier step is unfinished
  4. CapabilitySomething your organisation must be able to do repeatedly and well. — Not available yet — an earlier step is unfinished
  5. ArchetypeA reusable pattern of work and outcomes, independent of your local job titles. — Not available yet — an earlier step is unfinished
  6. CompetencyAn observable ability with evidence and a proficiency level. The published library attaches these to a pattern of work; a guest workspace does not choose them. — Not a step in the guest builder

Before you start — what happens to this

  • A guest workspace is deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • You can delete it yourself at any moment, and the deletion takes effect immediately.
  • Nothing here asks for personal data. There is no field on any step that accepts a name, an email address, a phone number or a file, and there is no upload.
  • The readiness preview at the end is generated. It is not a measurement of anybody.
  • Until you create a workspace your draft lives only in this browser tab. Closing it loses the draft, and nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Customer Experience, Product and Design

Designing, building and evolving digital products and customer experiences: product strategy, experience design, product management and the engineering to deliver them.

  • Data & Artificial Intelligence

Turning data into decisions and products: data platforms, data governance and strategy, analytics, machine learning and the operationalisation of intelligent systems.

  • Digital Transformation And Operations

Changing how the organisation works: operating-model and portfolio transformation, delivery capability uplift, leadership advisory and modern operations practices.

  • Enterprise Modernization, Platforms and Cloud

Modernising the technology estate: cloud migration and platform engineering, legacy remediation, digital platform operations and technology strategy.
